Welcome Year 2's to Flip, Slide, and Turn

Welcome Year 2's! Before we begin I would like to respectfully acknowledge the Whadjuk people of the Nyoongar Nation as the traditional owners of the land on which we stand and pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging. This is a digital learning class to help you understand Flip, Slide, and Turn. To learn more I have found some fun tasks for you all to engage in. The first is a video I would like you to watch which will explain Flip, Slide, and Turn. You can click on the play button to watch this video. There are questions included, please type your answers in the comment box for me and your peers to see. The second is a geoboard, I think you'll like this one, I certainly did. Please follow the steps very carefully to complete this activity. If you have any trouble, please ask very nicely to your parents, carers, or even myself to help you. 2. Outlining Shapes

Outlining Shapes What different shapes other than triangles can you make on your geoboard? 1. Pick a coloured string from the bottom and loop it onto one of the pegs to begin 2. Click and hold down on the string and drag it to connect to another peg 3. Repeat step 2. until you have completed your first shape. 4. Click on the fill all bands button to fill your shape in colour, this is underneath the red string. 5. Repeat all steps to fill your geoboard with shapes. 6. Share a link of your finished geoboard here . The next time we are in class, will be print your geoboards and cut out the shapes. Then we will create a puzzle to challenge your desk partner.
